4 Fun Winter Camping Activities
Colder temperatures and frosty mornings make for perfect RV weather (as long as the heat is on and you have a ton of fuzzy blankets!). Plan a trip to your favorite campground and enjoy one of these 4 winter wonderland activities:
Have Some Snow Day Fun
How often do you get to wake up in your RV to a winter wonderland? Not many months out the year, right? So, take full advantage!
Family-friendly snow activities include cross-country skiing around the campground, sledding down hills, having a snowball fight, and a snowman building contest. Want more ideas? Check these 10 Snow Day Activities.
Host a Hot Cocoa and Toast Marshmallow Campfire
After a long day of snow fun, the move has to be a toasty campfire with hot cocoa and toasty marshmallows. Ask the campers near you to join in on the wintery fun.

Take a Hike
Taking a snowy hike is a great way for the entire family to stay active in the cold and is a wonderful activity for curious kids.
During a winter hike, be sure to:
Track animals. Their paw prints and hooves are easy to spot in the white snow. Take guesses at what animals made the tracks and using a tracking app to see who is correct.
Birdwatch. Be sure to take a pair of binoculars to watch birds flutter around barren branches.
Conduct a scavenger hunt. Some items are icicles, yellow snow, berries on branches, seed pods and more. Print this Winter Camping Scavenger Hunt before you go!
Stay Toasty with a Snuggle Day in Your RV
Sometimes the weather is just too windy and cold to brave the outdoors, that’s when staying snuggled up in your RV is the best option.
Some ideas for a ‘snuggle’ day are:
Have a movie marathon (there’s 8 in case you were wondering)
Whip up comfort food
Read a book
Host a board game day (fan favorites: Apples to Apples, Heads Up, Monopoly)
